A few weekends ago we went up to Government camp for a mini vacation! My mom took us and we had a blast. We went up to Timberline Lodge, Trillum lake, Ski Bowl & spent a lot of time in the pool. The weather was AWESOME & we all had a great time. It was nice spending time with my brother & mom too!

Ryder & his uncle Jakey!

Up @ Timberline Lodge! Where we were married, it looked SO much different without everything being covered in snow.

Our escape artist! He is on the move....

Trillum lake, so many good memories here as a kid. Doesn't this pathway just make you wanna go for a run!?

Picnic lunch by the lake. Ryder was loving being outside.

BEAUTIFUL!

My little family, all we were missing was Mr. B

We celebrated my 23rd (yippie) birthday while we were gone!!

Favorite Finds Friday: Shea Moisture

Before I had Ryder I knew that I wated to use the best & safest prodcuts on him that I could find (without spending a fortune!) I started out with a different product that claimed to be all natural but I wasn't impressed. Then, one day while at Target I stumbled across this wounderful product in my favorite isle of the entire store, the baby isle. It's like a mini heaven to me :) It was on the TOP shelf and the bright yellow label and bold wording struck me, that an the word Organic. Now, have you ever heard the phrase, "Don't judge a book by it's cover?" Well I am queen of judging by labels. I do know that just because I like the label doesn't mean I am going to like the product, I've heard it all, but the way something looks appeals to me! Im human! I will by a product because I like the packaging..

Okay, back on topic. I see this beautiful bottle (and label) and quickly whipped out my iphone, I needed to see some reviews and check some ingredients. All passed my standards and with a starting to fuss 4 month old I threw the wash, lotion & ointment in my cart and headed to check out. I've gotta say, this product isn't cheap, it's not as expensive as some California Baby Products but it isn't your Johnson & Johnson product either. The wash & lotion run $9.99 at my Target, and haven't checked anywhere else.

A few things that I love about Shea Moisture is that it is ORGANIC and the smell of chamomile is invigoratiingg. Plus, all o the products are Paraben, Phthalates, Paraffin, Gluten, Propylene, Glycol, Mineral Oil, Synthetic Fragrance, Animal Testing, PABA, Synthetic color, DEA & Sulfate Free! Granted i'm not 100% sure how unsafe all of those products truly are BUT after some research I'm pleased that my little man won't be in contact with those chemicals on a regular basis.

I have been buying Shea Moisture at our local (45 minutes away) Target. Their website (which is currently under construction) says their product can be found at Target, Walgreens and CVS. If you try this wonderful product please let me know what you think! This is definitely a staple product in our household now.

If you REALLY knew me...

I saw this on a few other blogs I follow and I thought it was cute. Made me think so I started writing things down...

If you REALLY knew me you'd know.....

-I am a mother, wife, sister, daughter, friend.

-My middle name is Lynn, so is my moms!

-I am terrified of elevators... not that they will fall or that I will die in one but of how claustrophobic they make me feel. Like seriously my feet are getting sweaty as I type thinking about it!

-I was scared when I was pregnant that I would be super claustrophobic... I wasn't.

-I worry like no ones business, it drives the people around me crazy at times i'm sure.

-I hated my best friend when I first met her.. now after 10 years I couldn't imagine my life without her.

-Running is my biggest stress reliever.

-I hate clutter, knick nacks, random stuff all over the place. Austin & I joke that we could never have a garage sale because we throw away all the stuff we don't want or need and could never save it to sell later!

-I met my husband on the internet ;)

-My first car was a jetta

-I love Jesus, I feel like my relationship with him right now is stronger than it has ever been & i'm loving it. but don't get me wrong, I lack faith & obedience too often.. hence the
worrying..

-I love turbo kickboxing & the body pump class @ the gym.. yet haven't been for over a year. Justification: my closet gym (that I have a membership to) is over an hour away & Ryder last 5 minutes in the kid watch at the gym.. SO I just run at the moment.. kinda ;)

-I have the most amazing, hardworking, loving, calm, intelligent, patient husband in the world. He truly is my better half. He completes me & grounds me.

-We got married at Timberline Lodge & my papa married us!

-I dislike watching movies.

-On of my favorite places is Palm Springs, I have so many good memories there growing up & spending summers there. I love it.

-I use to dream about one day having my own classroom

-Type A personality right here.

-Our dream place to live is BEND, we've given it to God & if we are supposed to be there he will make it happen.

-That Ryder's feet are OKAY! haha we get a lot of questions!

-I worry A LOT.. did I already say that!?

Well there ya have it.. a few random facts about me!

Ryder turns ONE!

Our little man is officially ONE. He is a toddler, he is walking, and he has no more bottles. I think I am having an anxiety attack.. How did that year go by so quickly! It is amazing, we have gone through a lot in one short year yet it seems like just yesterday he was born.

We had a wonderful party that he will never remember to celebrate his life! We took TONS of pictures and year from now he will be able to look back at all the fun! Here are a few to give you a feel of the party...

Sign on the front door, warming everyone up to the theme of Dr. Seuss!

Guestbook table.. there were four fishbowls, one fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish! We actually gave the fish away at the end of the party to some kiddos who were BEGGING to take them home!

Some of Ryder's friends, Colby, Ryder, Nico, & Zeke!

Ryder's Cake- Made by the talented kelsea Reineccius, check her out. She also did our amazing Thing 1 & Thing 2 Cupcakes as well!

Dessert Table!

BOUNCE HOUSE
The kids seemed to enjoy the bounce house, the adults even got in for a little bit!

This was the best idea ever, I wish I could take full credit on the snow cone machine but I can't... all goes to the hubby!

Austin & his dad cut out his huge 1

Johnson cousins

Our Little Family

Before cake! BIG 1 year old!

Not too sure about this whole cake stuff! It was more of a muffin.. I didn't want Ryder having so much sugar so I made his "smash" cake and iced it with whipping cream. I'll post the recipe later.

After his cake! Not too messy. The cake wasn't your typical cake and I made muffins as well and I have actually been giving him the muffins leftover as a snack and he LOVES them without the whipped cream!

Total Randomness!

I haven't blogged in awhile, I think about it often, but blog so little. My bad. But anyways, a lot has happened since I lasted posted. Im currently sitting in the car while Ryder naps, waiting the arrival of my mother @ holland studios (the photographers that took our AMAZING wedding photos) well a year and a half later I have FINALLY sent in our pictures for our album and the proof is done! I can't wait to see it!

Well that's not why I blogged today. Austin stated yesterday at ODOT (Oregon Department of Transportation) he had been applying since 2009! It's super hard to get in on the state and since he is so young it's even harder! But he sent in his resume for this job, got a call, had an interview and bam he got it! There were 18 applicants and they interviewed 14. I am one proud wife! He is the new Contract administrator and inspector out of Salem! Yay! It's funny that his first day happened to be Ryder's 1st birthday. I guess August 6th is a good day for us!!

This morning Ryder had his 12 month appointment with Dr. Yeager! She said he is doing PERFECT and that it is so refreshing to her that Austin and I are aware of the things he eats & our parenting philosophy-- which is a little bit of everything haha kidding, having an education background I have some strong opinions in how I want us to raise Ryder, and thankfully Austin an I are 100% on the same page!! Also, if you ate a parent or one day might be check out Parenting With love & logic, its an amazing book! Dr. Yeager also loves that he eats so healthy, natural, organic foods & that we are CONSISTENT! Well we try to be! I love that being a parent means you have all control & freedom to do what you & your spouse feel is best!

I have a ton of pictures to post from Ryder's birthday party and I'll get
On that soon.. :)
